The challenge

A builder in Melbourne’s CBD undertook the renovation project of an old office building and needed to provide high-end business-style door and window solutions. Core pain points: the office building is located in the core of the business district with dense pedestrian flow, and the construction noise must be strictly controlled during the installation process; the doors and windows must have good sound insulation (≥ 40dB) and thermal insulation (Uval ≤ 3.0 W/(m²·K)) performance to adapt to the high-frequency use needs of the office building; at the same time, they must meet Australian AS1288/AS2047 standards, and the style must conform to the high-end positioning of modern business office buildings. In addition, the project needs to complete the supply and installation of 80 sets of doors and windows within 60 days.

After customizing the HB102 Thermal Break Casement Windows solution (matched with LowE double-layer insulating glass and DORC hardware) for them, all project goals were fully achieved:

Excellent Office Performance: The LowE double-layer insulating glass achieved sound insulation of 42dB and thermal insulation Uval of 2.8 W/(m²·K), effectively blocking the noise of the business district and maintaining a stable indoor temperature. The tenant feedback that “the office environment is much quieter and more comfortable after the renovation.

Efficient and Low-Noise Construction: Through prefabricated production and low-noise construction equipment, we completed the supply in 35 days and the installation in 20 days, totaling 55 days ahead of schedule. The construction noise was controlled below 60 decibels, which did not disturb the surrounding pedestrians and businesses.
